tag changes to 0 when style is changed

My application writes text with tags. When the user changes the formatting

of the text in the editor, the tags are set back to 0. The ides was, that

the application knows how to update the generated text by looking at the

tags, but this does not work when the formatting is changed (and the tag set

to 0).

Is this a bug and could you fix it, or is it a wrong interpretation of mine?
