Yes, non-text items (such as breaks) cannot be protected.

But you can make a read-only paragraph (with colored background or border,

simulating a horizontal line, see TParaInfo.Options, TParaInfo.Background,

TParaInfo.Border).

Read-only paragraphs cannot be modified, but can be deleted as a whole.

Insert a text item (for example, a space character) with Protection =

[rvprDeleteProtect] in this paragraph, and you'll get what you want.
