Let's think.

There was no failure when reading RVF from field, because in this case RVF

data were read as a plain text, but your image does not look like RVF data.

Do you have any code that assigns Unicode property of text styles? Double

check it. Assigning it when the document is loaded can be destructive and

can explain corrupted text (but cannot explain invalid text and paragraph

style indices)
