ReadOnly does not affect methods introduced in TRichView (marked in the help

file as "viewer-style methods"), including AddTextNL.

The problem is not in ReadOnly property.

Read the help file on "FormatTail":

This method works properly only if new items were added from new line (as

new paragraphs) after the last call of Format or FormatTail.

So, either add text from the new line after calling FormatTail, or use

Format instead of FormatTail.
