Sergey:

A while ago, you said that after you released Version 1.7 you would be polling

your users for what features they wanted to see in future versions of

RichView.  I thought I'd jump ahead and give you my current list of major

desired features I really could use for my application that I would like to

see done first.  I'm not including any minor things.  Each of these would

probably be a lot of work for you.  I've discussed most of them with you in

the past and I know many of them are already on your "ToDo" list.  But please

add a check beside these to move them up your priority list.

1.  Improve keyboard support in and between tables for the arrow and other

navigation keys.  The forward and backward arrows should advance through every

character and not skip any. The up and down arrows should remember the column

they are in and should be in that column whenever the line is long enough.

PageUp and PageDown should work properly in tables and a PageDown followed by

a PageUp should return to exactly the original view.

2.  Overwrite mode. (You once said to me that this has been in your ToDo list

since version 1.0.)  When in Overwrite mode, Delphi and Word and Outlook

Express surprisingly do not change the cursor.  But there is nothing as

convenient as knowing you are in Overwrite mode by having the cursor change to

a "block".  See Excel for a good example of the block cursor in Overwrite

mode.

3.  Picture and Object positioning like the IMG tag in HTML, with text flowing

around it. Align=right, left, top, bottom, absmiddle, texttop.  Also the

hspace, vspace, border, width and height options. The ability to add a

caption/description below the picture would be very useful and maybe the ALT

tag could be used for this.

4.  The ability to edit very large documents efficiently.  The bottleneck here

is that formatting takes so long.  Waiting 10 or 20 seconds for a large

document to format is simply not acceptable by users anymore. They expect

better.  We have discussed possible ways of speeding up RichView in the past,

including formatting only the visible area, or formatting being done in the

background in a separate thread.

5.  A "Hidden" text style.  Any text assigned this style will still be in the

document but it will not appear.  But it should be selectable so that

it can be given a different style and be made visible again.

6.  A Small Caps typestyle that can be applied to any font, just like bold,

italic, or underline.  I know this is tricky, but it would be very useful to

me in my application.

7.  A splitter - so that you can split the window into 2 or more views of the

same document.  Either have the splitter built right into RichView, or

alternatively allow multiple RichViewEdits of one document be able to work

together at the same time which would allow a splitter to be created.

I used to have a much larger list than this, but in the last few versions

you've done them.  Many thanks for your great support of RichView.
